The BIG SING JUNIOR 2023!
Join us on Saturday, May 6 for the second annual Big Sing Jr.: a choral festival for the youth choirs of NYC!
Choirs with singers from 4th grade through 12th grade are invited to a day of shared music making in the grand Gothic space of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Inaugurated by the New York Choral Consortium in partnership with the Cathedral, Big Sing Jr. is a free event for all youth choirs in the New York Tri-State area. The event is focused on building community between ensembles and offering a shared music experience that will inspire!
The event will be led in a collaborative way with directors from each ensemble invited to lead a portion of the Big Sing. Ensembles will also be invited to perform a piece from their own repertoire in a shared recital that will feature the ensembles participating.
The day's schedule:
12:30pm Arrival of choirs and directors
1:00pm-2:30pm Rehearsal 1 (music for the Big Sing led by each director)
2:30-3:15pm Break/Snacks and rehearsal period for ensembles who are performing solo in the cathedral
